Ah! I hadn't read the post where you mentioned that these photos were
actually black & white negatives and not digital photos.

That does add a couple more steps.

First, have all the negatives printed, the larger the better. 8x10's will
provide more detail, of course, than 3x5 or 4x6.

Not really practicle for the number of pictures I have.

Second, use the copy stand and photograph each picture using slide film.
I assume you have a film camera. If not, you will need to purchase,
rent, or borrow one.

Third, take or send the slide film to a lab for processing.

Why, when it is something I have done in the past, but it was a long time
ago and the materials which were fairly common seem not to be available
today.

Once you set things up with the copy stand, you should be able to get them
all done in a fairly short amount of time.
