I had an amusing experience this evening.

I went into town this evening to indulge in my hobby of
photography, and found myself being aprehended by the law while I
was out. I was taking night shots across the rooftops of well known
local
landmarks from the top floor of a multi storey car park.
While taking one one them, I was absent mindedly pointing my camera
over the roof of the police station next door, and I was spotted on
CCTV. As I was leaving the car park, I was stopped by two
policemen who had come out of the station to question me and find
out what I was up to. I explained to them that I hadn't even realised I
was
pointing in the
direction of the police station. It just wasn't something that had
even occurred to me.
They took my details, and while one was radioing them through to
the station, presumably to find out of I was a wanted fugitive or
something, I showed my evenings work to the other policeman.

They were really quite friendly and chatty about the whole thing,
and they kept stressing to me that I wasn't in trouble and I hadn't
committed any offence.

We ended up by having a lengthy chat about photography, equipment
and techniques, and in the end we went our separate ways quite
amicably. I was really quite amused with the whole incident, as I
haven't had
my name taken by the police since I was in my early teens.
It made me feel like such a rebel, LOL.

If anyones interested, the photos can be viewed here.

Thanks for sharing.
Out of curiosity, could you please share some info.: camera, lens,
ISO, WB. Thanks.
Marcel

Hi Marcel.
I was just shooting with a Fuji S5600.
I don't own any massively expensive kit. The S5600 was the closest I
could afford to a DSLR, and having since played with some fairly
expensive DSLR's, I actually prefer the S5600 for it's simplicity,
and the fact that it offers some features that more costly cameras
don't. The ISO setting was 100, and the camera was on fully manual. Can't
remember the exposure time, but it was slow enough to need a tripod.

For film stuff, I use a Praktica BCA.
Again, not an expensive camera, but very versatile.

Hi again, Sam!
After my last e-mail, I went back and very carefully looked at all 56
photos.
My first reaction was: What a beautiful city! But where? Then I
thought (ignorant me) Kings Lynn might be a town... I "Googled
Earthed" the place and found you were in England. Of course, castle,
old churches and all... What was I thinking? Congratulations. I've
never been there, but you got me interested. Strange how night photos
add a new dimension... I discovered the fishing boats, the city, bell
towers, Spooky
Church... I particularly liked the scene in the cemetary in HDR... I
slowly realised there were not all from the same place...
I took the liberty to look at other albums. I love the "view-point"
(angles, etc.) of many of your photos, as the one of 2 dogs pulling
on a ring, the crumpled bill, the tire flowerbed or the horrific site
of the boa eating... the bruised leg (who would think of that?), fog
scenes.. anyway perhaps not all prize winners but nonetheless
pleasing photos. I liked them. Thanks for a great tour! By the way, I alos
use Photoshop CS2.
Marcel

Hi again Marcel. Many thanks for your kind comments.
Most of the chrches were photographed in and around Norfolk in England. Some
in Kings Lynn and others around the small town of Swaffham.
There are a few shots looking over the river Mersey towards Liverpool, and
the shots of the big castle are all in Northern Ireland, a wee town called
Carrickfergus where I grew up.
