I'm finally getting around to transfering my super-8 film to DVD.
And with many newer technology available the service is probably lot
cheaper and better than years ago.
I'm going trade my nice old Elmo projector to a young art student in exchange for making the transfers. He's interested in shooting film for the 'look' then transfering to digital for easy editing and wants the projector because it has good adjustments for synching the transfer. Frankly I'll miss the 'look' of real projected film but I know those reels won't last forever & I'd like to clean them up & re-do the sound tracks & they will get a lot more play in a digital format. There won't be any loss of quality at HDTV resolution and some day, affordable digital projectors will be good enough to show them big again.
