I have a question. If you could buy one point and shoot to supplement
your DSLR so that you didn't feel like you are taking a baby along
everywhere you go, what would it be. I am thinking small and under 200
bucks but takes great shots. No other requirements. MPs. Zoom. These
are less important than easy portability and good photo quality for just
this situation where you wish you had a camera but are glad you don't have
your whole bag of gear.

Canon, and you have described the dilemma precisely.
