I would like to know if any of you folks have any solutions to the issues?
I would just pack it all up and send it back but I am afraid ole Betsey XP
is on borrowed time. I considered Apple/MAC but after talking to some of
the labs I deal with that may not be the best idea. I sure as heck don't
want to run into issue with CS3 as I really feel it will help my business.

What reasons did the labs give you for not going Macintosh?

Tiger and Panther (the two latest Mac operating systems) both read RAW.
PhotoShop is available and works pretty much the same on both (you use a
different "control" key but Control-C and Apple-C are the same as are the
rest of the control key combinations). Color management on the Mac is
system-wide instead of program dependent. They both output files that
printers and labs read.

Plug-and-play works on Macs.

Downside is that one-button mouse - it throws a lot of people at first. You
can buy two and three button mice that can be programmed to what you are
accustomed.

Guess where my bias lies :-)

I'm actually a Unix system admin and work in a financial company's data
center by trade so both Window and Macs are kinda toys to me. Both have
strengths and weaknesses. Both can hold together a small to moderately
sized business.

You may find you don't like the Mac interface - lots of long-term Windows do
not. That would be a legit reason to not switch. But don't not switch
because one lab has some quirk :-)

My point is make up your own mind based on your comfort level with the
switch.

Or put XP on your Dell - you know it works with your existing software.

Personally - I wouldn't use the first release of *any* operating system for
anything mission critical unless a required feature absolutely depended on
that operating system.
