Re: Camera or Lens?

I have the orignal Canon Digital Rebel with the 18-55
lens and a Sigma 75-300. I am considerind the Canon 100-400 IS with the
L lens around 12-$1300. On the other hand if I got the new Rebel xti
which has 10.1 pix compared to 6.3,would cost less and I can blow up the
picture during editing. Which would be the better way to go?   thanx

The image from a 10.1 MP camera can be enlarged greater than the image
from a 6.3 MP camera can without showing pixilation, but the softness
and aberrations of an inferior lens will show long before you get to the
point of visible pixilation.

Also, the magnification difference between a 10.1 and a 6.3 MP is not as
much as you probably think it is.
