The following are outstanding photos I found by Googling words Sydney and
lightning. That's the Sydney in Australia.

The reason? On a different forum, an Aussie person there, posted them with
"this is what the storm looked like". While he never said he took them, he
had no problem accepting all kinds of compliments for them -- one person
even asked for permission to use them.

I suspected he didn't take the photos and confirmed (to myself) they were
identical to ones already posted on those links above. I mean, lightning is
kinda like a fingerprint in a photo. I forced his hand by asking him point
blank if he had taken them. He conceded that a friend took them and sent
them to him.

Hey, this storm happened only two nights ago. While I can't prove it, I
suspect these photos have probably been posted for quite awhile. But how can
I prove that?

Len

Hi Len,

I'm not sure this is proof, but it might be interesting. I found this
photo:

and if you compare it to the first link in your list, you'll notice
that it was taken from *exactly* the same place, with exactly the same
angle of view. Probably within a fairly short amount of time between
it and the first shot in your list. It was posted in September of
2004.

Oops, I just looked at your 2nd link and it matches the shot I found
from Sept. 2004.

If you lighten up the darker pic, you'll see that the boats anchored in the harbor are the same ones in the same places; shifted slightly by the tide.
