Nikon D50

Is this the place to ask several question about the D50 or is there a
forum specifically devoted to this camera?

Since I'm here:

With my D50 off, when I look through the viewfinder, I see what is
depicted in the manual, however, when I turn the camear on, I see the
left focus bracket is darker black and there is a faint staight line
from the bottom of this bracke to the left side; what is this? is
this normal? Why is the left focus bracket darker and what is this
faint line for?
