Thanks for the information; I wont be using Nikon view, it just wonto
work. What do you use to download from a reader? Is there a program
that works and will let me arrange photos?

I'm concerned that I'm gunna end up with thousands of photos and
they'll be so unorganized that I'll never find what I want and wont be
able to show anyone. I'm consideirng buying the Epson P4000, but I
still need a way to view from my comp.

I love my D50, but now there is a whole other world to learn.

Itslows down my cmp, takes up a lot of processor time, and doesn't do
anything. It wont transfer from a memory card. What can I do to make
this work?

Nikonview can be a problem. 1.) is it loaded correctly? If you have a
fairly speedy link, do a search for updates to properly link it to your
version of Windows. The Nikon site is not fun, but you will find a
small link to support that will give you a patch if you need one.
2.) this seems simple, but Nikonview will not open a card from a
cardreader. The card has to be in your Nikon camera. And you have to
have the camera set to the functions/menu symbol, not the camera
symbol.
I use the program because it gives a lot of options for types of file
and is easy to transfer the data with the picture.
Hope this helps.

on the d50 there is a part where you can make folders with differant names,
then you just select which folder you want put your pictures you are .taking
then when you download them to your comp they are allready sorted into
catergiories
