Nikon D200

I just received a D200 camera and I can't make the built in flash to
automatically work when it's needed. I'm using the "P" mode . But even that
I used the dial to selectflash enabled while pressing the FLASH button, at
the time I frame a picture on a dark place, it just takes the picture with
super slow shutter speed and I get a super blurred photo.

Do you know how to activate the built in flash ?

Thanks
