The +1 and the 1x are not the same thing.
the +1, as far as I understand, refers to a 'diopter' lens.
Where a 2x, 4x lens will actually 'zoom' in, the diopters have the
effect of reducing the minimum focal length of the camera. For example,
if normally, you can't get closer than 6 inches away from your subject
without losing the ability to focus in on it, a diopter will allow you
to get up to maybe 2 inches away.
Diopters can often be 'stacked', meaning you put a +4 and a +2 on at
the same time for a combined effect.
Diopters will allow for better/larger macro shots, but since the
diopters are extra pieces of glass, they will reduce the quality of the
image, depending on how good the glass is.
