A characteristic of a professional photographer is that they have the
equipment required or expected for the environment that they work in...in
other words they have a concentration.

Most amateur photographers don't want to be weddding photographers or
portrait photographers. They want to be more like magazine photographers, or
sports photographers, or photojournalists. And an artist might not want any
public attention or involvement while working...

In other words an amateur photographer is often someone who would not
compromise from an ideal...
