Glossy finish papers tend to emphasize contrast and vibrant colors,
perhaps at the expense of some tonality. Matte papers (with color
prints) look a touch muted, and less contrasty, but work well with
subtly toned images. Matte paper is also particularly good with black
and white, and people have come to expect monochrome art shots to be
done on a matte paper. In the wetworks world, matte-finish fiber
papers hold up better to long-term display than glossy resin-coated.
