I've used Avast on XP Pro for many years and on several machines, never
had a virus. It's also been good on my Windows 7 pooters.

Well, I've had PC's since before floppy disks (!!) and never had a
problem either --- and i've never had anti-virus software !!

( meant no virus problems --- I've certainly had
(and have) other computer problems ---e.g. my
XP Pro machine with all upgrades to date can't
detect or use a USB connected hatd drive.
But I've never had a virus that I know of.
