The result you got would be what I expected.
The connetion to the Public was made after the failed connection to my own
SSID. *attempted* connection

<connection. This allows you to do certain "network" actions on your local
< machine that would be difficult without a active NIC.
How do you insert a "loopback plug" ?

Now re-read my post.
I never said you should insert a loopback plug in a WIRELESS connection.
I gave an example. that would produce similar results.. The system recognizes
that there is a Network present, but there is no CONNECTION.
