Laptop make and model,
Toshiba Satellite M55-S135
O/S SP level,
Windows XP, SP3
Firewall (and supplier) setting for WiFi adapter. (Yes Bunky, they can be
set
differently),
No firewall setting for now
Model of Access point / WiFi Router,
D-Link DI-524, DSL connection to internet.

WiFi Signal Level, Speed, (Quality) indicated on Laptop,
Very high ( I have the laptop near the router while I'm trying to
troubleshoot)
Java version.
Java Plug-in 1.5.0_01

I use an older Toshiba S1135,
Sun Java,
Personal A/P is Linksys WAP 54 G, WEP.
Used many other Corporate A/P's of various brands,
with Java.
I Mainly use Firefox, but IE works fine with a java app (streaklines, SF Bay
winds) over all the various A/P's I have used.
My suggestion is to try Firefox and see if tat has the same problem.
