The office viewers already mentioned won't integrate as nicely with Outlook
Express, so you'll have to save attachments first, then open or open-with.
Then, you may try a combo of thunderbird and openoffice instead.
While Outlook Express will have some resentment against openoffice as a
default app for *.doc (the association will often be ignored), thunderbird
happily works together with that program.
