Boy, this is a problem that can make your heart pound! Trying to help someone by giving distant
advice is always dicey, but I think I can give you some good news. All may not be lost in terms
of your files and docs on the hard drive. If you can't get your original Windows XP back, at
least you can probably boot with one of the many live Linux cd's and copy the files to a flash
drive. Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS and Mepis are three that I have used to read the NTFS partitions on the
hard drive to retrieve data. Of course, if your own system is bollixed, then you'll have to get a
friend to download the Linux live cd iso, burn it to cd for you and then you can boot from it. I
realize that this is not a solution to your problem, but at least it's a way to retrieve data so
that if you have to reinstall Windows you won't lose that data in the reinstall. From what you
have said, I think you are headed for a fresh install of Windows.

If the hard drive has died, then none of this applies and your data will be lost. HTH, JG
The problem started with........... ncpa.cpl control panel
Theres nothing tells me the HD is on its way out.... but then ?
I have a second machine but the power supply is max out to slave it
I have this cool S W called Pc relocator but both machines have to work
some body said to use usb to sata cable with power supply
Im not even sure theres any thing still on the drive ?
Im afraid to look
If I have one more chance, I dont want to destroy it
Im lost...
Linux is an option Ill keep in mind
thanks
