Re: Defective User or What?

Thanks, I should have known that. There are some tasks to be done, see
comments at the end.

There are a couple of reasons-

I have no idea what the FAST wizard is
Go to the "Start" menu, try looking under "Accessories|System Tools"
for the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard". This utility allows you
to copy user-specific files and settings from one account to another
or to another computer.

I need to end up with the same user name because all my passwords are
linked
to my primary user name.
Can't you get around this by setting new ones or making them the same
as the old values?
Strange thing happened, however. I did create a new user and it could
access that one stubborn error 500 site. Microsoft money folks suggested
I
go back and work on my old issue, but then a second site (of about 50 I
have
links to) started presenting the same error. I did a system restore as
far
back as possible and the newly "defective" site is now available, but the
first site that had the problem is still not available.

Microsoft has a lot of diagnostic recommendations for the Server cannot .

. . Error 500, but the first one, Diagnose Network connections, is not on
the screen as far as I can tell.
If you are using Internet Explorer look under the "Tools" menu when
you are logged on as an administrator-priveleged user. If you you are
logged on as a limited user it will not allow you to test the connection.

I installed IE8 Beta 2 to see if that was the problem. Nope, not only was
it not the problem but MS folks tell me that Money will not work on IE8 and
I have to go back to IE7.

They also gave me a URL which explains how to do the copies and what files
to copy and what to not copy.

Next I will have to create the new user and transfer the files as indicated
above. Actually, since I am the only user and an administrator I will have
to create 2 new users because a "neutral" user must be the one to do the
file transfers. This may turn out to be good in the end because some
websites have been reporting things like "completed but with errors", or "do
you wish to continue running scripts on this page?" Got to be a bad user
file.

Thanks,

DAW
