I tried several weeks ago to bring up any old restore point and I ended up
with the message, after the reboot, can not restore to date xx/yy/zz every
time. I tried a couple of more today with the same result. It appears that
restore is not working at all. There are no additional error messages.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
System Restore is very unreliable and can lead to data loss, despite M$
claims that you're data will remain intact.
The best solution is to turn system restore off altogether and to implement
your own backup regime including images of your OS drive or partition to a
separate drive or partition. Clearly this requires some forethought and
planning.
In the meantime, perhaps you'd care to mention the reason for wanting to
perform a system restore, there may be a simple fix that will get you by.
