Can not restore

I tried several weeks ago to bring up any old restore point and I ended up
with the message, after the reboot, can not restore to date xx/yy/zz every
time. I tried a couple of more today with the same result. It appears that
restore is not working at all. There are no additional error messages.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
