WinXP Pro SP2

Hi.
I recently installed a new motherboard and all went fine. The
machine was running great for about 2 weeks but now, inserting any
USB device into the machine will cause it to crash. If I restart
the machine with the USB device still connected, all is fine and
the USB device behaves as normal.
I have tried different USB devices and different USB sockets. I
have also tried uninstalling all USB entries in Device Manager so
they are re-installed when the machine restarts but so far nothing
has worked. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
TIA.

Er..... thanks for the replies, anyway I've now discovered that it's
not "all" USB devices that crash the PC, only flashdrives. It
appears that this is quite a common problem with WinXP so now I'll
google to find an answer.
It's still a mystery as to why flash drives *did* work for two weeks
on the new mobo, and now they don't!!
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.
TIA.

"It appears that this is quite a common problem with WinXP"

No, it isn't.

Google returned 316,000 hits for "inserting flash drive into XP causes
crash."
Yeah, a pretty common problem.

"Common" starts at 3,000,000 hits for the 80,000,000+ PCs out there.
