Black characters are intermittently flickering on my display, but it
only seems to happen in Outlook Express and MS Word. I have a
Samsung TFT-LCD 17" monitor, about 4 years old. The characters are
'flickering' now as I type this message. Any ideas please.
Terry D.
Those Samsung TFT's have a nasty habit of doing that. When they make
them they use weak glue to affix the characters to the dispersal
strips, therefore they tend to fall off during operation producing
random character images on the screen.
characters - some fell on the carpet and were vacuumed up. Where can
I obtain replacements? I seem to be missing the letters 'S', 'O',
'D' & 'o' 'f','F'.
There is a hidden port somewhere for topping up the glue levels, but it's
only known exclusively to Samsung engineers. If you inject superglue into
every hole that looks as if it might be the secret port then you'll hit it
in the end and your characters will remain affixed. Seeing as you've only
lost 5 characters a 100 volt DC supply applied across the red, green, and
blue, pins (In that order.) of the VGA input and ground (Be careful to
observe the correct polarity.) will activate the spare dispersal strip
inside the unit and solve the problem.
