Re: One machine, one admin, one user - how?

Unless maybe XP (pro) automatically sets up a *visable* administrator
account? Does it? Because XP (home) does not.

WIth XP (home) while doing a clean install you are eventually
presented with a, "Who will be using this machine?" (or words to that
effect)screen. If, at THAT point, you only enter ONE user name, the
machine will boot straight into Windows without the user having to do
anything at all. And that single user *seems* to have full
administrative capability. I know because I'm sitting at one I've
got set up that way right now. BUT, that's NOT to say there isn't an
"Adminstrator" account as well. There is. It's just that I haven't
ever needed it for anything, nor do I ever see it, unless I boot into
safe mode. Can the same thing not be accomplished with XP (pro) ?

XP Pro differs only in that you can access the Administrator account in
Normal mode Welcome screen by hitting Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice.

You always need access to a second 'Administrator' capable account; accounts
do get corrupted.

You can have multiple accounts and still automatically boot into one of
them. TweakUI can easily set it up.
