If I make a complete Hard Drive clone of my drive on my currentThe worst that can happen is that it won't fire up and you will have
computer, then transfer said drive into a BRAND new computer with a
new motherboard etc, what will happy?
What is the best way to make a transition to a new computer?
Thanks
Brian
to do a
quick repair from the OS installation disc.
that's the best.........
component and system drivers will all be wrong,
the OS will not recognise the system hardware
In reality a complete reinstall of the OS may be the better option.
You fucking idiot. Never heard of a repair installation, eh?
they usually go off fine. The only issue is if the motherboard
driversetc (e.g. disk controllers, network adapter drivers etc) are
not on the transferred hard drive. However, the repair install will
give you a working computer and you can install missing drivers from
the disks later.
