My Control Panel Add/remove device got screwed up and now cannot uninstall nearly all programs that were there originally -- programs show, but the "Remove" part isn't there. Is there a fix (\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\) shows most recent programs but NOT most of the older programs I had installed (photoshop elements, Acronis etc.)?

I have this problem too. I have done a system restore to a previous restore point to no avail. If it is caused by missing entries in the registry then all the repair installs is not going to bring them back. I would suggest as the previous poster to reinstall the apps that have the remove button missing.

I would lay ten bucks that a recent microsoft windows update has caused the problem. Can everyone that has done a windows update recently check their add/remove list to see if the remove button is missing

I reckon MS will reissue an update anytime now...
