Wow...it's amazing how people that know NOTHING have to chime in the

If you knew anything about how the os and the bios interact, you would
have not even attempted to communicate with us humans.
sad, really.........I could go on with numerous examples of how and
why os's will and do interact with bios, but as you have shown, you
wouldn't be able to grasp it.

I believe there's a jumper setting on the MB that you can set that
will reset the bios settings to their default (I know it works to get
around passwords). A quick search on the internet for BIO's settings
and GX-1 may dig up something.
I have an old GX-2 in the basement but don't have the manual with it.
I personally wouldn't even TRY to install XP on that slow puppy.
Thanks....I'll try that. I should be able to find the reset. I just
have in mind that when this happened years ago, our tech dept brought
a diskette in to re-set something in the startup......
