Hi group,
Just dragging an old machine into the present day.
Moved from win 98 up to XP pro.
Running a P3mmx with 384mb ram.
Everything is working fine,
EXCEPT
the power down. When I come to shut down I go through the usual
procedure and windows closes down and gives me the usual message
that it is safe to switch off, but when I do nothing happens,
unless I plug out at the main. It was working fine under win98,
and still if I switch off whist
booting up before windows loads, the switch off works fine.
So it has to be something related to XP
Please can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance to all those that take the time to reply.

Your suggestion was less than useless.
There's no such thing as "less than useless".
Yes there is, look at what you suggested.
Did you feel that your suggestion proved so superior that you were entitled
to tell others just how bad theirs were?
