Hello.
My system in brief is.
Windows XP Pro x64
AMD Dualcore 4800+
2Gb Ram (2x1Gb)
I am having a problem with notification bubbles appearing behind the
taskbar making them unreadable. The OS is up to date and runs perfectly
in all other ways so this is only a minor inconvenience but it would be
helpful to find the cause and a cure.
Many thanks.
Rayd.
All mine do it too, from time to time. It's one of those notorious
Windows'
bugs.
Rebooting will likely stop it from mis-behaving for a while. Also,
sometimes
you can slap-around the settings in Start | Settings | Taskbar and Start
Menu
Properties by first selecting "Auto-hide the taskbar" > Apply and OK out
of
there [ oh, crap where'd the taskbar go??!!!??? ]; then navigate back (you
do
that by bumping your cursor on the bottom edge of the monitor's viewing
area,
so the taskbar reappears) and unselect it again, then > Apply and OK out
of
there.
My best guess is that it occurs as a result of some/a few/many other
softwares' shared use of the Windows ballon-tip functionality, eventually
creating an obscure conflict.
Anyway, I got used to it. When it bothers me I fix it. Mostly, it
doesn't.

I think a fun thing to do might be to transport way back in time
to an exact point moments before there was going to be a lunar
eclipse and tell the cave men: "If you want proof I have come
to destroy you, may the moon turn blood-red and darken the sky."
Just then the eclipse would start.
Of course, they might just try to kill you or something;
but then, you could explain about the rotation of the moon
and all like that, and everyone would just get a good laugh.
The problem persists despite trying your suggestion. As I said, it's not
really an important issue as everything else works just fine. I was simply
looking for some advice. I am completely new to computers having retired
just last year. So far I've taken my A+, N+ and 70-270. I'm enjoying
learning something new. Thanks for taking the time to offer your advice.
Regards,
Rayd.
