In my humble opinion Norton has become so bloated over the years that it
is
no longer a viable program for some computers. I am no expert but I just
get the feeling that the various exe files within the latest Norton suites
fight each other to gain access to your CPU. Plus the many "Phone Home"
elements within the latest suites combine to screw up a machine.

My solution was to completely and comprehensively remove all traces of
Norton from my machine. Without Norton my machine was very noticeable
much
faster. I now use Nod 32 as my anti-virus protection. This program works
well for me and has such a small footprint it becomes unnoticeable in use.

I have used NAV 03,04,05 and 06 without problems. I use ZoneAlarm Pro for my
firewall as it plays with NAV quite well. I have noticed that Nortons
Systemworks seemed to stop working after 98SE and hasn't worked well since.
I tried NIS 2006 and it was a prick of a programme. NAV2006 is ok but some
dipstick at Symantec decided to add that stupid bloody Norton Protection
Centre to NAV and that slowed it down a tad. This Norton Protection Centre
smells of Microsoft which doesn't surprise me at all. Nortons is starting to
give itself a bad name so maybe it is time to install a better antivirus
programme.

Hear!!!! Hear !!!! I just removed it and installed
AVG yeaz.... what an improvement....
