Re: Disk failure and recovery console

Hi All,
My main drive seemed to fail so I got a new one, there is
data on
the old drive I require.
If I use the recovery console I can see data on the drive and running
chkdisk /r and /p it shows no errors.
If I use the drive as a slave my new install cannot see the old drive?
I have used jumper settings as master and slave also tried using cable
select to no avail.
Is there anyway I can make the old drive bootable again as it looks
like data is there, or make the new install see the old drive as an
extra drive? Running XP pro sp2.
thanks in advance for any useful help.
Bob

Start>Run>diskmgmt.msc
Assign a drive letter to the old HD.
