art spewed out this bit, and i'll scatter a few bits myself
Does any know which file(s) contain the address book contacts?
Search files and folders for "*.wab" without the quotes.
My search came up empty using this method. In fact, even MS
directions are useless in importing-exporting my address book using
the .wab extention.. Any suggestions?
Advanced Search Options. It's in a Hidden, System, Sub-Folder.
Hummm! I checkmarked my search to look in Hidden, System files and
Sub-folders. The search still came up empty. I should think this
should have brought it up, but it didn't.
I would have thought so, in your Explorer Folder Options, View tab,
enable viewing Hidden and System Files and Folders. You Address Book
should be in:
C:\Documents and Settings\"phrogee"\Application
Data\Microsoft\Address Book\
Oops, I forgot... if you upgraded to XP instead of a clean installation,
it's going to be in a Directory under \Windows. Maybe the Search will find
them if you enable viewing them.
Clean install! I'll give it a go tonight. Have to leave for a few hours.
Thanks for the guidance. I know where to work from now at least. Will get
back to you if I get it worked out so that we both know. As the OP, I had to
put a new HDD in my desktop. I know many people have had trouble
exporting-importing their contacts.
