A clean install might work, but then I may end up with the same problem
again after logging into the domain.

It would take longer to isolate it than it would to do a Clean install.

BTW I am not, before you ask. :-)

XP pro was working fine until I logged into a Microsoft SBS domain
which has global security policy installed and running.

Now my pc runs ok apart from being very slow when using explorer to
search for files ect..

(if connected to the domain or on it's own).

The file icons also take ages to show whilst in an explorer window.

Restoring to a previous date has made no difference.

I have up to date antivirus installed, no adware found, no spyware
found.

All xp updates installed, (could one of the latest updates have
caused this?)
