Program Settings always reverting back.

when i run programs as Admin i need to change the settings everytime.
for example, when using this newsgroup program, i need to run it as
admin, but everytime i do this, i need to change the settings back to
the way i want. so why do the settings revert back everytime? its
really frustating - HELP!
