Re: Can't install windows in new mobo

It could be the processor or the memory that was hosed by the power
supply failure.

Try using MemTest from http://www.memtest86.com/ to test the memory.

If it's the processor, you can only find out for sure by replacing it
with one known to work.

The motherboard's manual from its manufacturer's site will tell you
which processors the board supports.

Recently i had a power failure, the surge protection didn't work, next
day machine works fine and suddenly power supply explode, i bought a
new power supply, after that 1 hard drive (i have 2 Hd in the machine)
shows problems, change of speed, goes offline, and looks like bad HD,
then machine starts freezing, then problems to boot, and finally never
boot up again, so i think was mobo problems, yesterday i bought an
Intel® Desktop Board D865GVHZ with the new power supply HD's runs
fine, no more changes of speed, but i notice when i tried to goes into
winxp computer reboot, then i tried to install xp again, boot from cd,
goes into installation, copied files, then asked to reboot to continue
the installation, but when it tries to run xp to continue the
installation, machine reboot again, i don't hear beeps, everything
looks fine, my question is could be a memory problem or a cpu problem?,
or what am i doing wrong?, thanks for the answers.
