Hi,

I have posted here before but still have the same problem of 2 SATA drives
not being recognised. I get an ULSATA caused an unexpected error (18) on
line .... at..............something file, (Can't remember exactly what it
says). after trying to load the SATA, RAID files on installing XPPro. The
setup can then no longer continue. This is really starting to bug me as
everyone tells me it's easy. Could it be a BIOS setting needing altering?
I must be doing something wrong. The MB is an MSI 875P Nero series.

Thanks,
Will.

Is there a flash card reader in your machine? Possibly built into the USB
printer or a CD/DVD drive?

On two machines I've handled, the card readers were installed and assigned
drive letters before the SATA drives. One of the card slots became "drive
C:", we got the very same message you described, and the Windows
installation stopped dead. In both cases, we disconnected the card reader's
internal USB cable, installed Windows, then re-connected the card reader and
everything worked fine.

A co-worker bought an HP computer and the card reader was disconnected when
the computer arrived. Not to excuse HP for shoddy finishing and inspection,
but this may be the reason the card reader was not hooked up when everything
else was.
