Re: SATA and RAID

Without additional information, can't tell what the problem is.
All I can suggest is to GOOGLE the error messages you get. Sometimes you
can find the anwer.

Try the install without the IDE drives and plug them in later once
everything is working.
Are you setting up a RAID configuration with the twin SATA drives?

Hi,
I've got as far as selecting the SATA and RAID drivers from the floppy
when the install programme asks for them but now it comes up with an
unexpected error (18).
3 steps forward and two steps back. I'm fast approaching the end of my
teather. The 'help' web-sites don't mention this.
Will.

Hi Milan,

Why does it say "Forbidden, no access on this server" when I click on the
link?
I've tried several browsers.
Thanks,
Will.

When you re-install XP on SATA drives you need to give it the SATA
drivers from a floppy. See the following link for instructions.

Dear all,

I have been given a PC with a 875P Neo series mainboard. With twin 120
Gb
S-ATA drives.
I wish to add another 2 IDE drives all using the Promise controller.
Things
seem to be going from bad to worse. With me trying to keep the
information on
all the disks but after setting up arrays and then deleting them I'm
not even sure if I have anything left on them.
To add insult to injury CMOS has been cleared and the peripheral
settings regardind S-ATA and
RAID in the BIOS are abit baffling to say the least.
I finally decided to reinstall XP but after a few minutes XP says I
haven't
any hard disk! Of course I have and they're all connected up.
Every way I turn I come up against a brick wall.

Is there an online resource where it will take me through the steps to
sort
this mess out?

Many thanks,
Will.
