Re: xp cd lost!

Windows crashes regularly every few months & takes 2 to 3 weeks to repair.
You may not have to twick at first but soon or late you will be in trouble
anyway.

I worked for 10 years with Unix had never any trouble.
I am working with windows, trouble comes regularly every few months.

When you know about Unix it is very simple to do anything you want.
When you use Windows bad luck you just cannot do anything except what MS
wants you to do.
Remember that You have to update every days!

Judging by the first two replies, some people really need to get out
more. (And associate with real, live human beings. Really pathetic.)

If you can get hold of a copy of XP, there's a key crack floating
around - not too hard to find.

With Unix, if you're a total novice you'll be spending a fair bit of
time tweaking everything. It's fine if that's your hobby, but unless
you've got someone experienced to guide you where necessary, it'll be
likely cost enough time, frustration and energy sufficient to make you
wish you'd plunked down the cash for XP (which itself costs enough
time, frustration and energy that they ought to pay us all to be alpha
testers). If you really need to get things done, you might want to hold
off on the Unix transition for now.

You could just contact Microsoft. They're very sympathetic. Mmm-hmmm.
And Australia's about to crash into Indonesia.
