MANY thanks to "Greenie LeBrun" for his aid in my time of great distress.
That Everest Home Edition did the trick!
Much techy stuff,but easy enough for me to analyze & go to Intel and
download driver(without leaving the Everest site) and I am up and running
perfectly.
A point in the right direction from a caring user did what Microsoft
could/would not.
