You have been Disconnected.....

I found this computer and now I have found a use for it.....online
poker!
The thing is I occasionally get disconnected (usually when I have
great cards).I get notices from the site that my connection is lost,or
that there is a 14 second delay,or I get completely disconnected from
the internet.
I get disconnected during other activities ( surfing,downloading ).
I have a Dell with "Modem Helper" ( MDM_util.exe ) and the modem checks
out OK.
Never have any problems with the phone lines.
I am on a single phone line with a dial-up connection and the line has
call-waiting.
What would cause these disconnections from my MSN ISP? Could it be
that when someone attempts to call me it somehow weakens my connection?
Or should I have the phone conpany run some kind of check?--_I think I
did this some months ago and turned up no problem.
I've had this problem for months and can't figure it out.
Any ideas? Joe C.
