Always be suspicious of anything that wants to write to your registry.
that`s why I asked you what program. Why don`t you try to make your OCR
stuff work by making it compatible with an earlier OS. Right click on the
exe file, properties, make compat ?.
The file that wants to write to the registry, should be a text file, see if
you can open it with Notepad, so you can read it.
