Swedish and German sound very different in the flesh.

So - true story - there is a guy in the shop here whose Mum is deaf. She make sounds, but only her husband and son can really understand them. After a tour of the shop to see where her kid works, one of the guys wanders over and says "So, Sean, is your Mum Swedish?"
Fortunately, Sean's sense of humour stayed intact.
