While I love my Fully, I still can't get it to pedal for me up Jones Creek or Haflin Creek or any of the climbs in the San Juan's.

And "make it safe", I'm not sure I agree with you on that either. Perhaps they give one a false sense of safety, but I crash as much and as hard.

OTOH, I do appreciate your turn-a-round. There are plenty of folks who complain about the beating they take on a rigid bike, and a good fully can alleviate some of that. If we can get more folks to try mountain biking, perhaps we can get better access as well.
It is not for everybody, but more people should try it before they knock it!
