No Pain, No Gain

Since the crash of '05 I haven't ridden much and have gotten to a point where my old German neighbor has taken to calling me fatty.....Now I haven't gained much weight but it sure has moved around.
Somehow this isn't segwaying into the NPNG subject so I digress....
I got the almost all clear from the ortho doc on Friday. MRI showed no tears and no obvious signs of adhesive capsulitis...ok...so why the f*ck does it hurt so much when I do this, doc? I wasn't happy with the PT place I was going to so I asked the doc for a referral to another place (ok by him, he gets to charge the insurance co. more for the scrip, grrrr). The doc says I need to get this thing stretched out, that I need somebody to really get physical with the arm and shoulder, where NPNG applies.....uh oh!
Meet Dan. Dan is the PT at the new PT place. He explains what he's going to do and has this evil look about him. We talk as he assesses the motion in my arm. Like usual with medical people Dan asks "small talk" questions, "where you from?", "what highschool?", "what year'd you graduate?".....after answering the last question with '78 Dan says "too late for my partner to know you, my partner graduated in '73 from their"
.....
.....
.....
ok, my wife is in the interior design field and if somebody says 'partner' I've got accustomed to knowing this means their partner is of the same sex. Sooooooooo I say back to Dan..."maybe "HE" may know my brother who would have graduated in '74 had he graduated.
Now I wasn't looking at Dan's face, didn't really think about my statement containing "HE" but the remaining conversation sort of focused on his kid (22 years old) his wife .....yeah, his wife...oh ***.
Needless to say the stretching I received next somehow brought a smile to this man, Dan. Dan really is the first Sadist I've run into. He pulled, pushed, bent and brought extreme pain to this fat man of me. Dan had a pleasantness to him but I wonder if I didn't cause myself just a little more pain than was needed today!
Moral of this story
One has to be careful of what one says to somebody that's about to inflict pain upon oneself
