Re: Shipping bike to APO/FPO address

Ahoy bike-mates!

Been a while, I've been extremely busy in "incomunicado". I am doing
well, and taking some R&R before heading to VA for advanced training
and then a year in The Box.

To get to the point, question is, has anybody had any sucess shiping a
bike, either in peices or as a whole through the APO/FPO system? I know
packages may not exceed 130 inches in combined length and girth, so it
is likely to have to come over in peices.

I find a great desire to aquire some Surly Endomorph 3.7 tires mounted
on some Surly Large Marge rims. The only reasonable frame I can find
to accomodate this set-up would be a Surly PUGSLEY! The problem is
there are no Surly dealers in "The Sandbox". (Go figure that!)

I lived with an APO address for 10 years and could never get a full bike shipped. You might be able to do it in pieces. Fed X and UPS are worldwide as well, might have a bit of luck with that.
