How is what I said in anyway similar to what you said? It isn't. But
for the mentally challenged lets break it down:
1. Songs released after 1992 are crap. (this would indicate that I
would NOT download them because their crap and I don't want to listen
to them)
2. Alot of the songs I download are not available on other media now.
Not every album that was recorded before CDs has been remastered on cd.
Go to a "cd" store and see how many 8 tracks they have for sale, or
cassettes. The store with the widest selection in a 450 mile radius
does not have it nor have a way to order it. After leaving the store
dejected that your "krokus midnight maniac" was not remastered on cd,
or available at all in your area, you see a cd in a case laying on the
top of the trash can. it's a CD-r. it says "krokus midnight maniac"
do you pick it up and give it a listen, or do you still demand to find
someway to PAY for the music? No this arguement does NOT apply (as you
imply) to CDs that ARE available for sale. But if they ARE, i'm going
to buy them USED, which means neither artist nor record company receive
any money from me.

This was said tongue-in-cheek, thus the lol. Perhaps a <g> would have
driven that home to you more.

I was IN a band in phoenix, we PAID TO PLAY, not GOT PAID TO PLAY, we
paid money for the venue to play at. I know what it is like to be a
starving artist, thus now I'm a network adminmistrator. Still I would
have KILLED to have one of my songs downloaded for free by millions of
people.
>I _AM_ a member of RIAA (or at least the version for my part of the

AGAIN, I control *my* wallet, and if its NOT going to open up to buy a
cd, and I download a song from that cd WHO lost money in this
transaction? Does the Riaa realy care about making me "go without
hearing the song" if so, why do they play it on the radio?
thx
