Re: Is there hope??

Ah, there's the rub. The clinical endocrinologists said in 2002
that anything over a TSH of 3.0 should be seen as hypothyroid,
but the "normal" level for TSH gets kept at 4.5. So the people
between those two numbers could be being treated for a defined
condition, but instead they get told that their numbers are "normal".
And a contraindication of thyroid replacement therapy is a pre-
existing adrenal insufficiency. But people continue to be given
thyroid supplement, often the inferior synthetic version, when their
adrenal insuffiency is the primary issue.
And how about those spirochettes that the ticks deliver? They can
go into cyst stage and not be seen by standard test. Or if there
is indication of possible spirochette presence, but a couple
of the relevant DNA bands are excluded, the test will be said
to be negative, And those little bugglings will cause organ-specific
symptoms, depending on where they hide.
Get the idea?

There's hope for you if you find out what's really wrong with you.

Do you live in an area with many ticks? What is the value for your
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone? Does it hurt to press on your sternum?
What's the status of your adrenal gland? Do you have arthritis?

Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis that's given after other conditions that
cause the symptoms have been excluded. Unfortunately, it is very common
for the differential diagnosis to be poorly verified. A lot easier to
tell the person "You have fibromyalgia, have a good day."

Consider carnitine, and MSM, and magnesium, and
appropriately done stretches, and, well, you get the idea.

Hi,

Although I've been using usenet for two years, I have just stumbled
onto this newsgroup!  I have had FMS for 7 years and as most of you
know, it's not fun.  I have tried different meds ranging from
antidepressants to neurological pain meds.  Like you, I have good days
and bad days. Lately, I have been taking 10 grams of Ribose per day
along with the Mega Men multivitamin.  WOW!  Both of them are making me
feel really GOOD! What a change!

I'm always looking for new information on fibromyalgia, so I will be
browsing this group a lot.  Now, for my topic question:

Is there hope for someone who has fibromyalgia???

Thanks for reading,

Nathan :-)

PS  I'm 26 years old and I've had the fibro since I've been 19.

Hey, thanks for the reply!  Well, during the course of 7 years, I have
had extensive testing done.  Everything always comes back negative.  What
tests would you recommend I have done???

Thanks!  :-)
