Re: needing some insight into fibromyalgia and it's symptoms

Paragraph's snipped from Rod's previous posts-

Hello, the name is Rod. I'm curius about
fibro my because two people in my family
have it, and I'm wondering if it is
herditary. I'm having among other
symptoms bad joint pain in the hips, toes,
hands and neck, with sudden shooting
pains with some burning across my sides
and chest. I've been checked out by two
Doctors already for arthritis and angina,
nothing found.

and

To learn about the symptoms, the
disease, treatment and how to control   it.
I have some arthritis present in my hips,
but it's a small amount   and even my
present doctor stated that it isn't enough
to cause the   pain and swelling that I've
been having. The swelling in my right hip
has receded enough to allow me to walk
nearly normally, but climbing   steps has
been a challenge on some days.

I'm just an occasional lurker here, but I have a questions for you Rod
about the statements you made regarding your symptoms-

Have you been evaluated and tested for Lyme disease yet? Do you live in
or have you visited a state where Lyme disease is common?

Joint pain, joint swelling, arthritis, muscle pain and difficulty with
movement are major symptoms of lyme disease. Fibro and lyme have some
symptoms in common. but fibro doesn't cause arthritis, and joint
swelling.

Your doctor tested you to see if you had angina- why? Are you having
cardiac symptoms?

The burning pain you feel across your chest- is it accompanied by muscle
spasms or breathing problems? Do you feel pressure on your chest with
the burning pain? Does your doctor suspect it could be cardiac in
origin? Have you been checked for swollen lymph nodes?
