Guys, I haven't felt as bad as this in a long time. The bacterial
infection/sore that wouldn't heal, then seemed to, started back again; so
I'm on 2 different biotics again! Then, if I don't take them with food, I
get very nauseated.

The surgeon who was going to excize the sore but then didn't since it
"looked" like it was healing, is the one who put me back on 2 antibiotics
and ordered a cat scan. My lower back is very, very painful, worse than
usual, and I have a "new" symptom of Fibro, if that's possible. The left
side of my lower back is so sore that I can't get much sleep, nor find any
comfortable position to sit or stand. Got the chills again off and on, but
there could be several things that trigger those. I'm on Methotrexate for
RA, a little anemic, and on medicine for low levels of Vitamin D. I just
want to know the EXACT thing! I'm going to do a brave thing and call my
Rheumy to set up an appointment and ask him if he can go up a notch in pain
med for me. Darvocet is what he has me on, and it is doing nil at the
intensity of the pain I'm feeling.

There's a bunch of us over on the Tenderness group who are feeling lousy
right now too or have major family problems! I think the weather and this
yucky season of the year are a couple factors. The pain in my lower left
side of back radiates around to my side and rib area. I wonder if it's a
pinched nerve. Guess I'll have to wait to find out.

Know of anybody who wants to buy a "slightly used" body with little energy
and lots of pain? Didn't think so ;-) Nanny

Gosh Nanny this has been going on for sometime now, why doesn't your
doctor admit you to the hospital or allow home nurses to do IV
antibiotic therapy on you? At this point I'd be aggressively
insisting on IV antibiotics to clear up the bacterial infection once
and for all.

By doing so you may save yourself a surgery.

It could also be that the infection is/has spread and that is why
you're having pain in your left side of your lower back. Pain is a
warning. Infection is a warning.

Before agreeing to surgery DO insist on IV antibiotics! It blows my
mind as to why this hasn't been done yet! Did the doctor's rule out
MRSA?

You're fragile, especially being on Methotrexate, so do take care!
