Re: Pushback on FM in PT

yup, i agree with you and Ginny... pushing back is allowed when they treat
you wrongly. I speak my mind, as most of y'all know :-) the docs and
medico's that couldn't handle things correctly got the boot.... i just
recently walked outta a doc's office cuz they didn't treat me correctly. If
they don't listen to and work with me right from the get-go, then how can I
trust them to take care of *my* health.

I suppose that the situation with Ginnie being an announced FM'er and
in
PT is more common than I've thought....but I've personally avoided PT like
the plague so I can't really know how common it is.

My friend Ginnie has had 2 hip replacements ( same hip) in the past 3
weeks. She has made it known at the hosp. and at the Rehab center that
she's
a long term FM'er.

One of her main physical therapists coulda been a Nazi. She orders Gin
around, raising her voice and being very demanding. Gin was only back from
ICU at the hospital 1 day and this &7%$^^#@ was demanding she get up and
straighten up the shelves and drawers in her room.

One of the staff docs was going to reduce her medication amount this
week
because he told her she can manage her chronic pain ( after 2 surgeries
and
an ICU trip!) thru quote BEING PEACEFUL AND CHOOSING HAPPINESS unquote.

I live 1,000 miles away but still offered to cinch up a couple of his
"tender points" tightly with plastic cinch straps ( if ya catch my drift)
and then lecture him about peacefulness and happiness to cope with his new
chronic pain condition.

It takes bravery to let it be known you're an FM'er in a setting where
you're in captivity. Gin's that brave, indeed. And it seems to draw the
truly unbalanced among the medical staff outta the woodwork. Ginnie has,
of
course, fired both of these BOZOS from her medical team and is getting
reasonable replacements.

I think it's really important to take a stand as an FM'er and announce
you have it and to not let yerself be pushed around and forced into things
to 'manage' you. If we push back and push back EVERY time then perhaps the
medicos will stop trying to push us FM'ers around so much. Perhaps. Ya
think?
